The KLSD Reopening plan has been developed with health and safety as our paramount priority. The following plans and protocols are based on guidance from NYS Department of Health and NYS Education Department, as well as input from our District’s medical director and best practices from a number of health organizations.
Our plan for health and safety takes into account the following:
- Accommodations
- Before and After School Care
- Cleaning, Disinfecting, and Hand Sanitizer
- Cohorts
- Confirmed or Suspected Cases of COVID-19
- Contact Tracing
- Face Coverings, PPE, and Mask Breaks
- Hand and Respiratory Hygiene
- Health Screening and Monitoring
- Observing for Signs of Illness
- Return to school protocols
- School Closure
- Social Density
- Social Distancing
- Ventilation
- Visitors
In addition, our district has appointed a number of COVID-19 safety coordinators. These are the people at the building and district level who are responsible for overseeing continuous compliance with all aspects of our reopening plan as well any transitions necessary as conditions change.
