This year, due to the mandated school closure and need for social distancing, New York State has directed that school budget votes will be conducted entirely by absentee ballot. We will be mailing ballots to all registered Katonah-Lewisboro voters this week and will await your response via the mail.
On Sunday, June 7, Governor Cuomo announced a change to the deadline in this year’s school budget vote and BOE election. His announcement was followed by an Executive Order on Monday, June 8. This year’s vote continues to be conducted entirely by absentee ballot. We will have a drop-box where ballots can be hand delivered at the entrance to our District office (located at John Jay High School) on Tuesday, June 9 until 5:00 pm.
In compliance with the new Executive Order, after June 9 we will continue to receive ballots only by mail through June 16th. We will begin counting ballots after 5:00 pm on June 16. As a result, the declaration of results will be delayed until after that day.

Information on this year's voting process
The following link will help our community understand how to participate in this year's KLSD Budget and Board of Education election.
BOARD OF EDUCATION ELECTION
Two seats on the Board of Education are up for election to fill vacancies created by the expiration of the terms of Bill Rifkin and Scott Posner.
Three candidates will be listed on the ballots mailed home. Voters may select up to two candidates, including a write-in candidate of their choice. If a ballot contains votes for more than two candidates (including any combination of printed and written-in candidates), the ballot will not be counted towards the BOE election.
