A Sweet Way of saying Thank you
Donna Dooley’s kindergarteners honored veterans in a very sweet way; they assembled treat bags which will be sent to veterans and military families through Soldiers’ Angels.
The kindergarteners were asked to donate some of their Halloween candy for the treat bags. “I explained that giving up some of their candy would be an ‘act of kindness and gratitude,’” said Dooley. “They graciously accepted the challenge. I was so proud of them!”
The Increase Miller Elementary class assembled more than 75 treat bags. Each child added a personal touch to the treat bags by signing their name and adding a decoration. “It was one of the most meaningful activities I’ve ever done with my kindergarteners for Veteran’s Day,” said Dooley.
