Welcome, Assistant Principal Mike Pompa

Michael Pompa was appointed an Assistant Principal of John Jay Middle School at Katonah-Lewisboro Schools’ August 24, 2023, Board of Education meeting.

“Assistant Principal Ms. Graybosch and I are so happy to have Mike join us,” said Principal Jeff Swiatowicz. “During the hiring process, Mike stood out as a great candidate to complete our administrative team and the hiring committees agreed. Mike's experiences will be a great match for supporting the students and staff in the JJMS community."

Most recently, Pompa served as Assistant Principal of the Mount Pleasant Cottage School, in the Pleasantville School District. Prior to that was Administrative Intern & Dean of Students at the Icahn Charter School 6, in the Bronx. His decade of experience in education includes teaching fourth grade in the Mt. Vernon City School District, special education and social studies at the Icahn Charter School 6 and special education at Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES.

Pompa has a Masters of Science in Educational Leadership from Lehman College as well as a Masters of Science in General and Special Education from The College of New Rochelle.

“I am excited to be joining the John Jay Middle School family and to have the opportunity to work with such an outstanding staff.,” said Pompa. He will be working directly with school counselors and psychologists and the social worker and speech language pathologist as well as the Special Education and World Language departments.

Pompa replaces Monica Bermiss, who is now Assistant Principal for Student Support Services district wide.
