Welcome, Mr. Bournas-Ney

David Bournas-Ney was appointed Assistant Principal of Meadow Pond Elementary School at Katonah-Lewisboro School District’s April 7, 2022, Board of Education meeting.

“Mr. Bournas-Ney impressed us with his deep commitment to supporting and nurturing all students and his thoughtful approach to building a positive educational experience and culture at Meadow Pond,” said Principal Ashlyn Field. “I look forward to partnering with Mr. Bournas-Ney in his new role as Assistant Principal effective July 1, 2022.

Bournas-Ney is currently a first-grade teacher at George M. Davis Elementary School in New Rochelle. Prior to that, he was an elementary teacher at the Excellence Boys Charter School and the Brooklyn Friends School, both in Brooklyn. While a teacher, he has worked as a math instructional coach and a mentor teacher. In 2019, Bournas-Ney received his Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Hunter College and before that, his Master of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School in New York. Bournas-Ney also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

“It was a pleasure getting to meet so many people in the Meadow Pond community and visit such a wonderful school.” said Bournas-Ney. “I am eagerly looking forward to joining the team this summer and connecting with all of the students, families and staff!”
