Celebrating John Jay's sports teams and spirit!

Celebrating unity in a supportive environment

Exuberant and respectful, competitive and supportive, and full of fun with more than a few surprises … The 2022 Pep Rally and Homecoming Carnival was an amazing celebration of all things John Jay!

“The vision for the event was to make sure that all students have an opportunity to find a place in John Jay High School that they can connect to and with,” said the planning team of educators Tom Rizzotti, Kristen Spiros, Steve Del Moro, and Katie McCarthy.

Musical Chairs!

From serious to silly

The Pep Rally highlighted sports teams and their seniors, and featured performances by the Noteables, the Treble Makers and John Jay’s Dance Team as well as included a competitive game of musical chairs.

Mia Holbrook gave a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem. The faculty member voted to have the most SPIRIT was math teacher Jennifer Marschner. The winner of musical chairs—by an inch—Ava Feldman.

Bringing Students Together

The Homecoming Carnival afterwards got everyone student involved from the first moments, as each grade formed one of the letters of JJHS on the Contest Field. Students stayed together throughout lunch, visiting school clubs set up on the track, playing Hungry Hippos and trying to trigger the Dunk Tank!

Thank you to everyone involved who made this day possible.
