John Jay Presents Student-Run One Acts May 11 and 12

The John Jay Theater Workshop will present the student-run One Acts on May 11 and 12 at 7:00 pm in John Jay High School’s Theater. Tickets are $5 at the door.

This year, six seniors will direct 25 students in four plays. The production crew brings the number of participating students to 40 in what promises to be a wonderful evening of theater.

This year’s plays include “Ashes of Sylvan,” an original play written and directed by Zack Pezone; “Check, Please,” by Jonathan Rand, directed by Ali Lustig and Jessica Martin; Tracey Scott Wilson’s “Small World,” directed by Nate Greenspan and Lusi Halaifonua; and “Time Flies,’ by David Ives, directed by August Novak.

The event caps the seniors’ time with John Jay Theatre Workshop. “The best part of being involved in theatre at John Jay is easily the family that we’ve created from all grades and backgrounds, bonded over our love of the art,” said senior director Nate Greenspan.
