Important information for rising 8th grade student athletes interested in trying out for a Varsity or JV sports team this fall. This opportunity is for students who have excelled in their sport and have an advanced skill set and maturity level. Students interested must complete all the attached requirements and successfully pass 4 out of the 5 fitness components to be eligible for tryouts. John Jay High School is planning a shift to block scheduling in September 2025 designed to allow more time for learning and make school more manageable for students. The schedule will include four 82-minute blocks each day and a 60-minute common lunch. New stop-arms and cameras are being installed on all KLSD buses in partnership with Westchester County and BusPatrol. The photo enforcement program comes at no cost to the District and tickets drivers who illegally pass a bus when the red lights are flashing.
