5th Annual Encore Cabaret

ArtsALIVE! presents its 5th Annual Encore Cabaret on Thursday, December 22 at 7:00 PM in John Jay High School’s auditorium. Suggested donation is $10 / student, $20 / adult, and $5 / senior, as well as $100 / Gold Sponsor and $50 / Silver Sponsor.

ArtsALIVE! invites sponsors to attend a pre-show reception honoring Gil Cass, recently retired Assistant Principal, and take advantage of premium reserved seating. Tickets are available at the door and at klartsalive.org.

Encore Cabaret is a musical collaboration of John Jay High School’s current performing arts students and alumni. The evening features favorite songs from Broadway shows including "Journey to the Past” from Anastasia, performed by Sarah Richman; "Burn” from Hamilton, sung by Callie Sacks; “Santa Fe” from Newsies, performed by Philip Eng; and “When He Sees Me” from Waitress, performed by Carly Post.

The alumni artistic team includes musical director Andre Catrini (’07), emcee Tomm Polos (’06) and band leader/music arranger Alison Shearer (’06). New this year is the fine-arts department’s Rite of Winter art show

“Our honoree is recently retired Assistant Principal Gil Cass," said Ruth Post, Vice-president of ArtsALIVE! “He is a true champion of the arts and was very instrumental in the growth and success of ArtsALIVE! In addition, in spite of having retired, he remains in touch with the Board regularly and insisted on volunteering his time to continue as our liaison with BOCES.”

All net proceeds from 5th Annual Encore Cabaret will benefit ArtsALIVE!, John Jay's arts booster club made up of parents and students to support, promote and provide funding for enriching activities and programs, visiting artists, class trips and other arts-related activities for the students of John Jay High School.
