Bid #02-17/18 - Meadow Pond Elementary School Underground Fuel Tank Removal and Replacement

The Board of Education of the Katonah-Lewisboro Union Free School District will receive individual sealed bids before 12:00 pm Wednesday, November 8, 2017 for the following:

Meadow Pond Elementary School

Underground Fuel Tank

Removal and Replacement

 

The District will receive bids at the Katonah-Lewisboro Business Office, John Jay High School, 60 North Salem Road, Cross River, NY 10518 and at the date and time referenced above, any and all such bids that have been received in accordance with the terms hereof will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The District invites bidders to bid on the work described in the bid documents for the following project in accordance with the bid package:

Bidders may obtain the bid documents after 12:00 pm Friday, October 20, 2017 by contacting Karen Carroll at 914-763-7044 or email kcarroll@klschools.org.  No deposit is required for these documents.

There will be a pre-bid site visit Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 10:00 am at Meadow Pond Elementary School, main entrance, 185 Smith Ridge Road, South Salem, NY 10590.  Bidders are urged to attend the pre-bid meeting as knowledge of the site is crucial to obtain a proper understanding of the work.

Bidders must use all forms as specified in bid documents.  Bids must be clearly marked in a sealed envelope referencing the bid #, bid name, opening date, opening time and contractor name.  Such sealed bids must be delivered to Karen Carroll or her designee no later than 12:00 pm Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the Business Office, Katonah-Lewisboro School District, 60 North Salem Road, Cross River, NY 10518.  The District will not open or consider any bid unless it is received at the Business Office no later than 12:00 pm.

Bidders are solely responsible for the arrival of each bid package at the time and place of bid opening regardless of means of delivery.  The Board of Education will not be responsible for the premature opening of any bid that has not been marked according to above guidelines.  Bids opened prior to date and time above will be rejected.

Each proposal must be accompanied with a certified check made payable to Katonah-Lewisboro School District or a bid bond for the sum equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, conditioned as set for in the Instructions to Bidders.

The District will require the successful bidder to provide separate Performance and Labor & Materials Payment Bonds in the amount of the contract price and in the form specified in bid documents.

All laborers, workers and mechanics working on the site of the project must be certified as having successfully completed the OSHA 10-hour construction safety and health course.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the District reserves the right to reject bids that contain conditions, omissions, exceptions or modifications or in their sole discretion to waive any irregularities in the bids or to reject any or all bids or to accept any bid which in the opinion of the Board of Education will be in their best interest.
