Welcome to the 2021-22 School Year

Dear KLSD Community,

This week, we’ve welcomed kindergarteners and their parents, 6th and 9th graders eager to find their classrooms and their lockers, students in our self-contained special classes and their parents, and new families to our district. We’ve seen our fields filled with student athletes preparing for the upcoming season. This all brings us joy.

We’ve also welcomed back our staff for two days of preparation for the new year.

We are beyond excited for next Thursday (September 9th) when our buses will once again make their early morning routes through the community and bring all our students back to school. We can’t wait to welcome all our students.

Guidance continues to arrive from the New York State Department of Health, and you can read the latest updates here. You can also expect health and safety reminders before next Thursday.

If your child is medically fragile or you have an immunocompromised person in your household and are interested in more information, please follow this link.

To all in our community, I wish you a happy and healthy Labor Day weekend. If you are celebrating Rosh Hashanah, I wish you a sweet New Year.

Sincerely,

Andrew Selesnick, Superintendent of Schools
