Vaccination Update

November 5, 2021

Dear KLSD Families,

The Westchester County Department of Health has asked school districts to gather information from families related to the vaccination of 5- to 11-year-old children at school. At this point, the County is simply trying to determine the level of interest in different communities. We don’t know if the County will support a vaccine clinic in our District or not.

If you would be interested in having your 5- to 11-year-old vaccinated at a County run clinic at school, please complete the survey that is linked here. By completing the survey, you are NOT providing consent for your child to be vaccinated. You are simply letting us know of your interest. To make this process as easy as possible for our families, you do not need to log-in to complete the survey. Simply click on the link. PLEASE SUBMIT ONLY ONE SURVEY PER HOUSEHOLD.

This survey is entirely optional. If you are not interested, you do not need to complete it.

In this week’s school based COVID screening testing, 131 tests were administered to students and staff across our five schools. All tests were negative.

Today, we learned of one individual connected to Meadow Pond Elementary School who has tested positive for COVID. No contact tracing was necessary. We wish this person a full and fast recovery.

Next Thursday, our schools will be closed in honor of Veterans Day. We pay tribute to all in our community who have given their service. Please watch for the display of flags in front of our high school next week.

Wishing everyone a healthy and restful weekend.

Andrew Selesnick, Superintendent of Schools
