Learning Cafe - April 19, 2023 - Sustainability

Dear KLSD Community,

On April 19, 2023, we will hold our next learning cafe, this time on the topic of Sustainability. As you may know, sustainability has been and continues to be a significant focus in our schools. At this cafe, we will be discussing what we mean when we say sustainability and why we believe it is an imperative for our schools. Through our efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, to the implementation of electric school buses, to teaching our students about the science and social impact of sustainability, we are committed to a cleaner, healthier future. We hope you’ll join us on April 19 to think with us about how best to move forward.

For those who have never attended one of our cafés, here are some things to know. If you join us, and we hope you will, expect to participate. You will be seated at round tables in our middle school dining room, joined by other members of the community, members of our staff, and students. There are typically three rounds to the café. Before each round, we make a short presentation to the entire room, and then the tables engage in conversation. At the end of each round, you will move to a new table so that by the end of the night, you will have participated in three different conversations with three different groups.

To prepare properly for the café, we do need to know in advance whether you will join us. To register, please complete the form linked here, no later than the end of the day, Friday, April 14^th.
