What do you see? What does it remind you of? What do you feel? What do you wonder?
Pamela Hart, writer-in-residence at the Katonah Museum of Art (KMA), asked fourth graders from Increase Miller Elementary School these questions, prompting them to take a closer look at pieces in KMA’s Outrageous Ornament: Extreme Jewelry in the 21st Century exhibit.
The students began describing what they see—vivid, concrete observations that will become a poem and a piece of art created with art teacher Spencer Eldridge.
