Welcome, Mallory McDonald

Mallory McDonald was appointed Assistant Principal of John Jay High School, effective July 1, 2022, at Katonah-Lewisboro School District’s April 19 Board of Education meeting.

“We are confident that Mrs. McDonald will continue to impress us with her deep commitment to supporting and nurturing all students and her thoughtful approach to building a positive educational experience and school culture,” said Steven Siciliano, principal of the John Jay High School. “Her experiences have shaped her into a most caring and compassionate educator; qualities all our committees saw very clearly."

McDonald is currently an Assistant Principal at Pelham Lab High School in the Bronx. Prior to this administrator role, she was a math teacher at Pelham Lab High School and served in several important capacities, including being a model teacher, department leader and curriculum developer. McDonald received a Master of Arts in Education from The College of Saint Rose, and a Master of Arts in Mathematics Education and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from The City College of New York. In addition, she is a native Spanish speaker who was born in Colombia and immigrated to the United States as a very young child.

“I am extremely grateful and honored for the opportunity to work with the John Jay High School community,” said McDonald. “I am excited to collaborate with the wonderful staff, learn more about the academic and extra-curricular programs, and partner with both students and families to contribute to the already stellar reputation of the school. I look forward to using my experiences in education to continue to build an equitable and culturally responsive school culture for all students.”
