Variety Show
2019 Variety Show: "one of the best, ever!"
"This year's Variety Show was one of the best, ever," said Vincent Bell, assistant principal of John Jay High School. "The students pulled out all of the stops to celebrate Steve Morse!"
He was referring to the fact that Steve Morse, music teacher at John Jay High School and teacher-liaison to the Variety Show, is retiring after twenty-three years at John Jay High School. While the variety show is completely student-run, Morse's mentorship shines through what the students are able to achieve.
20 Acts! nearly 100 students!
"Exceptional talent, marvelous lighting and sound, and professional-quality stage crew!"
A wonderful act in a great career!
"This was the most fulfilling Variety Show I've produced here at John Jay," said Steve Morse. "The talent was exceptional, the lighting and sound were both marvelous, and we had a stage crew that was the epitome of professionalism."
"I feel so fortunate for everything I've learned and taught here at John Jay High School. I will miss it but am confident that the Variety Show, and all of the productions, will continue to be great student-events."
We wish him all the best as he moves on to a new adventure!
