National Honor Society 2022
Congratulations to the 106 seniors who were inducted into the John Jay High School chapter of the National Honor Society! The ceremony was led by officers of John Jay's chapter—President Olivia Stabile, Vice President Lavi Ohana, Secretary Joe Klettner and Treasurer Peter Jovanovic—each lighting a candle for one of the society's core values: scholarship, leadership, service and character.
“Our inductees have demonstrated excellence over a sustained period of time and this group of students is certainly worthy of this recognition and acceptance into this prestigious society,” said Assistant Principal Kim Piccolino, who presented the Inductees.
“The students being recognized tonight are much more than scholars,” said Steve Zoeller, advisor to the National Honor Society, noting that a grade point average of 90 was just one of the requirements. “They all achieved high grades while being leaders in extra-curricular activities and volunteering their time to perform community service.”
