Planning for Commencement 2020

Celebrating the Class of 2020

Principal Steven Siciliano, principal of John Jay High School, announced that the Class of 2020 Commencement will take place in the expansive parking lot of the Jefferson Valley Mall in Yorktown Heights on Tuesday, June 23, from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.

The ceremony will follow the drive-in movie concept that's popular this spring because it builds in social distance. Guests will enjoy a large screen presentation of live elements and prerecorded video from their cars and listen in on car radios. Meet the JJHS Planning Team.

The state-of-the-art large LED screen set up is a partnership between Katonah-Lewisboro School District, Somers School District and Bedford School District. All three high schools’ graduations will be taking place Jefferson Valley Mall on June 23.

Seniors each received a parking pass. For additional parking passes, please contact Barbara Sementez: bsemenetz@klschools.org

From Senior Class Advisors Steve Zoeller and Patti Dente

To the Families of Graduating Seniors,

This was an interesting year to be the senior class advisors.  With the support of a dedicated group of  parents, students, administrators and staff, the graduates have participated in different senior activities that, we hope, have brought your family and the community closer together.

This dedicated group has tried new ideas, worked with companies whose, products that didn't exist 3 months ago and of course made some mistakes, for which you humbly ask your forgiveness. We hope that some of these new ideas may become a new John Jay tradition.

One thing is certain. You will be participating in a historic graduation.  This graduation will be a unique experience in which you will be able to spend this cherished day with your child as they simultaneously  express their time at John Jay and look forward to their next stage in life.  The 2020 graduation will be a  ceremony that you and your children will remember for the rest of your lives.

Enjoy your special day!

Steve Zoeller, Patti Dente
