New Principal of John Jay Middle School

 Jeffrey SwiatowiczThe KLSD Board of Education appointed Jeffrey Swiatowicz as the new Principal of John Jay Middle School effective July 1, 2018. 

Mr. Swiatowicz is currently the assistant principal at East Ridge Middle School in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and has served in that role for the last eight years. Prior to his current position, he was the assistant principal at Roger Ludlowe Middle School in Fairfield, Connecticut, and previously was a district math coordinator and a teacher of math at both the elementary and middle school level within the Ridgefield Schools. Mr. Swiatowicz earned his Bachelor of Science in elementary mathematics from York College of Pennsylvania, his Master of Science in reading and literacy from Western Connecticut State University, and his Administrative Certification through the University of Connecticut. 

"Mr. Swiatowicz impressed us as someone with a deep commitment to supporting and nurturing the middle school age student, an understanding of the importance of collaboration in all aspects of the educational process, and a thoughtful approach to building a positive educational environment for all," said Superintendent Andrew Selesnick.

"I am looking forward to joining a community that has been extremely warm and welcoming to me," said Swiatowicz. " I look forward to working with the students, families, staff and community members in helping to create that same welcoming feeling for each person who is part of the John Jay Middle School community."
