Kweon Stambaugh Joins Leadership Team of KES

Kweon Stambaugh, KESKatonah Elementary School welcomes Mr. Kweon Stambaugh as its new Assistant Principal.

“Mr. Stambaugh comes with many years of administrative experience and is certain to contribute greatly to our learning community,” said Cristy Harris, Principal of KES.

“I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such a fantastic team and feel confident that together, we will have a very productive 2017-18 school year,” said Mr. Stambaugh. “My first impressions of the school and greater district have been outstanding.”

Last year, Mr. Stambaugh was the interim principal at Mt. Kisco Elementary School in Mt. Kisco, New York. For seven years prior, he was the assistant principal in the same building. Before working in Bedford, he was both an assistant principal and teacher at elementary schools in New York City, Stamford, Connecticut, and Marietta, Georgia. He received his Master of Arts in school administration and supervision from Bank Street College of Education.

One of Mr. Stambaugh's favorite pastimes is snowboarding. He also loves  to travel and enjoy time with his three children and wife.

There will be several opportunities in the upcoming weeks for the KES families to meet Mr. Stambaugh. He will be at the New Family Orientation and Kindergarten Visitation on Tuesday, August 29th as well as KES’ annual Back to School Picnic, PTO General Meeting, and Curriculum Nights.

“Mr. Stambaugh and I are both very much looking forward to greeting the children on opening day, Wednesday, September 6, and for a wonderful year of learning and growing,” said Mrs. Harris.
