Senior Independent Experience
Since May 1, John Jay's seniors have been teaching, editing, filing, farming, sitting in meetings and stepping up with skills they might not have known they had.
"Two hundred and fifty John Jay seniors participated in an independent experience this year," said Marisa Merlino, Director of Guidance at John Jay High School. "That's almost double of last year. The program is in its fourth year."
Participants shared their experiences with teachers, parents, and other students at an expo in the cafeteria on June 13.
