Recycling Matters

The students of Meadow Pond Elementary School's Recycling Matters Club collected 1,232 bottles and cans this school year! They made enough money to purchase breakfast items for fifteen homeless men at a local emergency shelter.

Next up for the club: a winter clothing drive and collecting gently used DVDs, CDs, and Blu-ray discs which will be distributed through the Community Center of Northern Westchester.

"I feel good about being a part of this because I’m making a difference in the world. I’m helping people one bottle at a time!" -Samantha.

"Recycling Matters is important to me because I want to help raise money for organizations that need it. Also I want to help the world by recycling instead of throwing bottles and cans away." - Dakota
